At The Domsy Foundation, we support local organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community. Few causes are more urgent or more moving than child hunger. That’s why we are proud to support Food4Kids Halton, a program that provides healthy food to children living with chronic food insecurity across the region.
This year, we have increased our giving to Food4Kids Halton because we strongly believe in their mission and want to help them meet the growing need in our community.
Food4Kids Halton addresses an often unseen crisis. Many children rely on school nutrition programs for their weekday meals, but when the weekend arrives, those meals are no longer available. For some kids, that means little or nothing to eat at home. It is a quiet struggle that happens right here in our neighborhoods.
Every week, Food4Kids Halton prepares and delivers nutritious, ready-to-eat food packages to local schools for distribution to more than 1,200 children. These kits contain simple, healthy items that families can easily prepare together, ensuring that children have reliable access to food outside of school hours.
In their most recent update, Food4Kids Halton shared the results of an incredible year:
- 1,275 children supported from 790 families across Halton
- 46,048 food bags distributed
- $150,600 in grocery gift cards provided for summer food support
- 18% year-over-year increase in children served
- No waitlist for any referred child
This impact is made possible by an amazing network of donors, volunteers, and community partners who share one goal: ensuring that no child in Halton goes hungry. Food4Kids Halton operates without government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of people and organizations who believe in their mission.
We are honored to support Food4Kids Halton and to stand beside an organization that puts children first. Their work is smart, focused, and full of heart. It represents exactly the kind of local effort The Domsy Foundation is proud to champion.
